Guitar Christmas: Medley by Jimi Hendrix
by frets on Dec.25, 2009, under Inspiration
From what I can gather, this recording (a medley jam of Little Drummer Boy / Silent Night / Taps / Auld Lang Syne) was recorded during the Band of Gypsys rehearsals for the Fillmore shows on 12/31/69 & 1/1/70. It was re-released on CD in 1999 & again in 2005.
Merry Christmas!

The Ventures guitarists Bob Bogle (who died June 14, 2009) and Don Wilson have had a profound impact on guitar that endures today. Sleigh Ride is from the Ventures’ Christmas Album from 1965 (re-released in 1995).

Guitar Christmas: Do You Hear What I Hear with Rick Derringer
by frets on Dec.21, 2009, under Inspiration
This one’s by Mike Musick (seems like it might be this guy), but Rick plays some killer leads on it. It’s from 2006’s Holiday Heart : An Eclectic , Aural Celebration of Christmas and Chanukah. I remember growing up I had Edgar Winter’s live double album Road Work (yes, vinyl!) which features Rick, and I wore it out.
