It’s been a little while since I wrote about my band CCB, but we’ve been busy!  We are playing one of the nation’s top venues, the 9:30 Club this Friday night (July 8)! I’m thrilled to play there, it’s a dream come true.  Growing up, I saw several shows at the 9:30 Club, and it is really pretty surreal to be playing there now.  To top it off, we are playing with our friends, the incredibly talented Paul Pfau and the Dimestore BandStatic Cinema, as well as The Shields Brothers and Sub-Radio Standard.

We also just found out that we’re in the quarterfinals of the HFS Battle to Break Out. Grand Prize = opening the HFStival, one of the east coasts biggest festivals!  We need your help to move on to the next round…it is based on fan voting.  So if you wouldn’t mind, please click thru and vote for Chris Collat Band (no registration or anything needed).  Thanks (and sorry about the shameless plug)!

We recorded and released our first studio track, I Will which got played on local music station DC101′s Local Lix program.  You can grab the track for FREE on our bandcamp page (or pay what you want):

We were also featured as the Starr Hill Band of the Month for June in OnTap Magazine, a DC/MD/VA entertainment magazine.  We also started a band blog last month.

Despite all of this, I’m going to continue maintaining this blog.  I appreciate all of you who’ve stuck with me over the years, and I realize this thing has changed directions many times…but I still love writing about music, guitar, and all my crazy DIY antics!  Not to mention the success of this amazing band I stumbled into.
