It sounds like he’s just noodling around with the tunes. I don’t think this was done with the intent of it being released (it was during a rehearsal or soundcheck). But for me, the fact that it exists is enough. I love me some Jimi!

Thanks Fran, yes I remember that New Years gig with fondness! I had a blast playing with you and ate like a king that night! I agree this isn’t Jimi’s best, but it’s historically & thematically appropriate. Plus I love the picture. Thanks!
